چکیده
In this study which is based on the information taken from the map of Soil Conservation and Management Master Plan of Turkey published by the Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Rural Affairs in 1987, all major soil groups were digitized and stored in a computer. After transferring process, the data in a GIS software have been used with different data such as main characteristics of the soils, provincial borders and settlements. For the pilot study, Thrace region, which is located in the North-West part of Turkey has been selected. In order to determine agricultural lands, forests, settlements and pastures in this area, Landsat TM dated 1992 and SPOT PAN images dated 1993 have been used. For using these data in the same GIS software, remote sensing data have been transferred into UTM coordinate system and image enhancement and classification techniques were used. Obtained information is transferred into GIS software and evaluated together with the other information. Joint use of GIS techniques applied to conventional mapping data and remote sensing data is an efficient tool for the decision-makers about the soil resources.

Remote sensing indices are used to analyze the Spatio-temporal distribution of drought conditions and to identify the severity of drought. This study, using various drought indices generated from Madis and TRMM satellite data extracted from Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform. Drought conditions in Marivan city from February to November for the years 2001 to 2017 were analyzed based on spatial a...
متن کاملAssessing Geomorphologic Changes of the Mehran River Delta using Remote Sensing and GIS (Bandar Lenga, Hormozgan Province)
Delta areas are dynamic features with changes occurring at many spatial and temporal scales due to catastrophic events. Change detection and providing a fluvial map of changes are the main requirements for environmental and zonal planners in many studies. Geomorphic changes such as temporal and periodic changes in riverbeds are common events in all delta areas. The Mehran river delta is located...
متن کاملMapping Spatial Variability of Soil Salinity Using Remote Sensing Data and Geostatistical Analysis: A Case of Shadegan, Khuzestan
Extended abstract 1- Introduction Soil salinity is one of the most important desertification parameters in many parts of the world. Thus, preparing soil salinity maps in macro scales is necessary. Water and soil salinity as one of the contributing parameters in desertification, cause soil and vegetation degradation. Soil salinization represents many negative effects on the earth systems such ...
